Hello @mdleighty,
Thanks for reaching out! I am not sure I understand your situation. Can you provide screenshots showing the issue in question?

Simplifi is importing Daily Cash transactions, which are deposits, and categorizing them as transfers. Attached are some screenshots. One is from my Apple Savings account, where the deposit occurred, and the other is from Simplifi.

I think this is just a matter of teaching Simplifi how you want to classify these deposits. My Apple Card rewards go to my Apple Savings account (they used to go to Apple Cash), and once I edit this to my preferred category, Rebates, Simplifi makes a rule to do that the next time. Of course, Ai is never perfect, and when it gets to be, it will take over the world and enslave us or kill us. 😁
Coach Jon will give you more information, but thought another user's experience might help too.

Hello @mdleighty,
Thanks for the screenshots! Have these transactions always been categorized this way? Or if they have not, what category was Quicken SImplifi using for these transactions previously? I would suggest creating a Category Rule. Creating a Category Rule will allow you to assign a certain category to a payee. Once a Category Rule has been created, Quicken Simplifi will watch your downloaded transactions and automatically assign the category accordingly.

I originally thought that Simplifi had classified them as a deposit, but I’ve looked back through the transactions and it seems as though they’ve always been transfers. I’m aware of how to create a rule, but it seems strange that they show up as transfers. I’m comparing Simplifi to a couple of other programs that also get transactions from FinanceKit, and they don’t classify these transactions as transfers.

Hello @mdleighty,
Thanks for the reply. Generally, we will categorize based on how they come from the financial institution. I would still recommend creating a category rule in this case!

The difference is that these aren’t coming from an aggregator, but from FinanceKit. While I can’t see how FinanceKit reports these transactions, I can see how other programs display the transactions, coming from the same place.

Hello @mdleighty,
I understand, however, we cannot verify or account for how other third-party programs may handle transactions. I hope this makes sense.
