Support for E-Trade 2FA

As mentioned previously in this post (https://community.simplifimoney.com/discussion/6367/fdp-103-error-with-etrade-edited)

When 2FA is enabled for my E-Trade investment account, Simplifi prompts for the 2FA code every time I open the app. Are there any plans to fix this? It would be great to hear from Simplifi devs whether this is technically possible given E-Trade's security posture. All my other accounts with other institutions work fine, presumably because Simplifi obtains a long term token which does not require 2FA.

    Hello @llamafilm,

Thanks for reaching out! Some banks have increased their security measures to protect your financial information and require verification with each connection attempt. Due to this change, you might be asked to complete a multifactor authentication (MFA) with each account refresh in Quicken Simplifi.

While we understand how frustrating this may be, this process is in place to protect you and your account information. We don't have a way to prevent these requests.

Additionally, we now can schedule account updates. This can be helpful for those dealing with persistent MFA.

Got it, thanks. I’ve actually moved my brokerage away from E*trade to another institution because of this.

I saw that new feature but honestly don’t think it’s very useful. I want all my accounts to be kept up to date at all times, automatically.

    Hello @llamafilm,

Thanks for the reply! I definitely understand the need to have your accounts updated when you need them. This is why we believe this new feature works well with users who would like the ability to schedule those account updates. Let us know if you need anything else!
