Wells Fargo transactions missing
I have a weird one that developed over the last couple of months. Starting in November 2024, two monthly transactions do not appear in the items downloaded for my checking account. Before this, they had been downloading correctly and consistently the entire year and before through 2021.
Even though they don't show in the Simplifi register, the account balance vs the bank is correct, both "Bank Balance" and "Balance with Pending." I did not delete those transactions. And I look at this every few days, so it's not a refresh or browser issue.
I downloaded the CSV file, and those transactions do not show there either.
This is troubling or rather really really bad, since not showing these amounts will affect category totals and, thus, tax impact. And now I have no idea if anything else is missing.

Hello @fcb,
Thanks for reaching out! This is definitely a strange issue. Especially if the transactions are showing up on your bank's website, but not in the CSV file you download from the bank. If they aren't showing up there, then this may indicate the bank is not sending those transactions for some reason. Have you contacted the bank itself to verify if this might be the case, and why?
Another thing you could try is resetting the account connection for the account in question to see if this fixes the issue:
Let us know how this goes!

Negative. Nothing changed after reset, including bank vs pending balance.
BTW, checked transaction filters, sorting etc., and zip.
The only aspect of this that I can reason out is that both of those are two health insurance payments of several. All of these health insurance payments are set as recurring with Automatch. Seldom do the awol ones match, so I delete the reminders after a couple of days past their date. For this month, I have yet to delete the reminder, but those two transactions DO show up over on WF and have cleared on 1/3, and do not show up in Simplifi.
For kicks. over in Simplifi reports, I downloaded the Net Income cvs report and filtered to those payments, and those are missing. I did the same over at Wells Fargo, and downloaded the entire 2023 account activity for that account as CVS (option for but didn't do Quicken type). Filtering, the transactions show up.

Hello @fcb,
Thank you for the clarification and information! Could the transactions have been incorrectly linked to a recurring reminder or a manual transaction? I would have you check your register for any transactions that share the missing transaction's exact amount and date. If you do have a matching transaction, open the transaction details to see if Quicken Simplifi shows the transaction as linked.

I've made no manual transactions even close to that amount, and even so, those are now cleared. Checking the exact amount, which is consistent all year, nothing shows for an incorrect assignment. Those amounts are simply missing.
Assuming we never figure this out, how does one get the missing category amounts in for correct accounting? A manual entry with the correct category and amount, plus a second entry with the correct amount and assigning a category of "reconcile," which I have already for weird stuff…., to get the amount balance to stay correct?

So keep me posted if your tech team is looking into this. I suspect there's a bug in your database algorithms that somehow missed coordinating with a recurring reminder or renamer and deleted rather than included it once it matched/renamed.

Hello @fcb,
Thanks for the reply. Before we can escalate this issue, we will need further information if you can provide the following:
- The name of the account the transactions are missing from, as it appears in Quicken Simplifi.
- The Date, Payee, and Amount of a few example transactions that are currently missing in Quicken Simplifi.
- A screenshot of the example transactions from the bank's website.
- A screenshot of the corresponding register in Quicken Simplifi showing that the transactions are missing.
- Confirm whether the missing transactions are impacting the balance in Quicken Simplifi or not.
Additionally, is this a recurring issue? As in, are these transactions missing on a weekly/monthly basis? Or is this a one-time thing you noticed?

@fcb,
As for your inquiry, you can add manual transactions and mark them as Cleared so that they do not impact the balance being provided by your bank. This support article explains how to add a manual transaction in Quicken Simplifi:
Once connected, the status of the transaction will automatically default to Pending if it's in a connected account. You will want to change it to Cleared so that it does not impact your account balance. You can set a Transaction to Pending or Cleared by entering the Transaction Detail view and selecting the 'Status' dropdown.
I hope this helps!
