This happen the 3 times I moved money from checking to Apple Savings. When you move money from your checking account to Apple Savings, it is posted immediately on savings but it takes a day or two for the bank to post. I wait until both post show in Simplifi and select Transfer as the category for the bank and Apple Savings from the Transfer popup. I thought that fixed the problem the second time. I don't know what fixed the problem the first time. I don't remember if I played with transfer or not. I have tried selecting transfer for both banking and savings but the problem exist and it has been 3 days.

The problem was my lack of understanding of the importance of categories. The two previous times I moved money from banking to Apple Savings I had to manually enter transfer after the banking transaction showed up two days later than Apple Savings which added the correct categories to fix the issue. however, I added the transfer this time but I noticed the negative spending amount on the graph. Instead of actually checking, I assumed the negative expenses was the correct  amount for spending, it was close, and the problem had something to do with the transfer. The real problem was a check I had to take to the bank for deposit because the photo of the check could not read the routing numbers. The teller had to type the routing number because her scanner would not read the routing number either. I think I remember the deposit came up uncategorized and I made it Farm. It was marked deposit and the amount was green. I changed it to Personal Income and it fixed the problem.

It probably has to do what CATEGORY that expense/income was in. A CREDIT to an expense category will show up as an expense (but a credit on it), a CHARGE to an income category will show up as negative income. Each category, which you should be able to see in settings→categories, is assigned to either income or expense,.

The numbers are correct, expenses and income. The expenses normal are positive on the graph but subtracted from income. The problem is all expenses are showing negative this month and added to income.

I checked mine, and mine are all in the right direction.

If you go to Reports→Spending, or Reports→Income, what do you see there? Essentially, Those two reports should match (in theory) the net income report.

Reports→Spending, or Reports→Income are both correct. Spending is minus as it should be. Only Net income shows spending as positive in the report but subtract it from income for net. Because it is negative for Jan Simplifi is changing the sign and adding.

Well, as another user, that was the best I could offer, maybe a Coach will step in and offer more troubleshooting steps or file a bug report. I can't file bug reports.

I told you incorrectly, the Jan spending plan is showing negative and the correct months are showing positive. Also the spending graft is showing Jan as negative and the correct months as positive numbers

Can you look category by category in the month that spending is negative, and narrow down one category where the sign is significantly in the opposite direction of the rest? That might help find something in the wrong category.

If by category you mean transactions, Jan and all months are black and positive for expenses, income is green and has a plus. Moving money from banking to Apple Saving caused the problem.

Most transfers are hidden from reports by default, unless you intentionally unexcluded one side. It is otherwise puzzling.

You see a plus green amount in transactions for the receiving account and a no sign black amount for the account loosing the money. All transfers are correct for Jan. The reports that include expenses have reversed the sign of the total amount of spending for Jan. Spending shows negative on graphs for Jan and spending is being added to income for net income.

    Hello @N4KHQ,

Thanks for reaching out! To better help us, can you provide a screenshot showing the transaction activity for the part of the net income report with the incorrect expenses amount you shared? This will help us determine if this is a problem with a category or not.

    Thank you,
