Tracking Credit Card Spending with Watchlist

I want to set up a watchlist based on the Payee for some of my credit cards so I can see how much I am spending per month on each. When I create a watchlist and add the Payee as it appears in the transaction list, my watchlist shows all 0's and one or none of the transactions. Even if a transaction shows for, say $500, the averages at the top all say 0. What am I doing wrong? I don't want to use categories because I don't want them to include all CC payments.
