My bills Are Not Linking to the Spending Plan

My account is not linking bills/subscriptions to the Spending Plans.
All entries are correctly categorized and have the recurrence settings adjusted. However, in the expense created within the Spending Plan, the entries do not appear in that expense's bill.

I have tried multiple times, but the entries do not link with the expenses created in the Spending Plan.

These bills that are not linking, do you see them under bills & subscriptions? As they get paid, they should show as paid and until then as upcoming. Right?

When you say they are not appearing in that expense's bill, what do you mean exactly? Bills and subscriptions will not show up under Planned Spending (the ones that have bars and you set an amount). By design, bills are excluded from those categorizations.

    Is this any help?

Most of the expenses are correctly recorded in transactions and do not appear under "Bills & Subscriptions."

For example, in January, as shown in the pictures, a paid marketing expense does appear, but it does not show up in the Marketing section.

However, in other categories I assigned, the paid transactions do not appear even under "Bills & Subscriptions."

    There is simply no linking.

I have a personal Quicken account, and the linking works perfectly there.

    Hello @DigiFarmz,

Thanks for reaching out! Since Quicken Simplifi is designed to not double count transactions in the Spending Plan, you won't see Recurring Transactions in a Planned Spending expense of the same Category. This means that once a transaction is linked to a Recurring Reminder, it will be included in the Bills and Income section of the Spending Plan and will not be counted towards a Planned Spending expense that uses the same Category. I hope this makes sense!

    Hi @Coach Jon and @SRC54

I believe this is not the real issue.
I created a test spending plan, included new expenses in unused categories, and yet the expenses were not linked.

Another point is that in my personal Quicken account, the existing recurrence in a specific category is normally linked in spending plans created afterward.

I have already set up everything from scratch, both when creating expense categories in the spending plan and when adding new expenses and recurrences.

So far, I have not been able to find a solution to the problem

    Hello @DigiFarmz,

Thanks for the reply. I am still not sure what specific problem you are referencing. Per my previous reply, Quicken Simplifi is designed to not double count transactions in the Spending Plan, so you won't see Recurring Transactions in a Planned Spending expense of the same Category.

Planned Spending is not a 'budget', and i think people misunderstand that. It's where you hold aside money you PLAN to actually SPEND. It reserves that money from the available amount in the spending plan. Bills and subscriptions are in the spending plan under "Income after bills & savings" section. There is no traditional budget in simplifi, they decided not to do that (and I prefer it the way it is).

    @DigiFarmz

I suggest you read through this support article:

Once you have read through this article, you will have a clear understanding of how the Spending Plan is designed to work and how to set up your Spending Plan.

As @RobWilk points out, the Spending Plan in Quicke Simplifi does not in any way function the way the Budget module in Quicke Classic functions. These are two different animals.

@DannyB @RobWilk Thank you for your feedback and for the suggested article—I will definitely read it.
I understand that the spending plan is not meant to function as a budget, but that is not the issue I am trying to resolve. The problem is:
I have two separate Quicken accounts—one for personal use and another for my company. I applied the same settings to both, but the spending plan is only malfunctioning in the business account.

So far, I have tried the alternatives suggested in other discussions within the community, but none have resolved the issue.

My apologies, I didn't realize this was about QBP, I do not have access to QBP so I cannot help. (QBP = Quicken Business and Personal)

    Hello @DigiFarmz,

Thank you for the reply. The Spending Plan should work the same way in both Quicken Business and Personal and Quicken Simplifi. It would not change the fact that if a transaction is linked to a Recurring Reminder, it will be included in the Bills and Income section of the Spending Plan and will not be counted towards a Planned Spending expense that uses the same Category. You mentioned it does work this way for you in Quicken Simplifi. Can you provide proof of this via a screenshot to better assist us? Thanks and let us know!

I deleted all created expenses, all created recurrences, and redid everything from scratch.
I added new bills to the Spending Plan, but they haven't updated in Expenses yet.
I'll wait a few hours to check if they will sync.

@Coach Jon As I mentioned above, I followed the procedures from scratch according to the article explaining how the Spanding Plan works, but I still haven't been able to get it to function properly.

I suspect there might be some kind of bug with my account.

    Hello @DigiFarmz,

Thanks for the follow-up. If you can provide a screenshot of the transaction showing the Transaction Detail view, this would be helpful in determining what is happening in your situation.
