Missing transactions

Quicken Simplifi
I have noticed that I am missing historical transactions from several of my accounts, including primary checking and savings.
I auto connect to these accounts and have no "filters" applied. At this time I am unable to see any transactions prior to 2024-December.
Please advise.

Were they there before and disappeared?
Or are you new to Simplifi and you downloaded them recently from your banks? If so, most (many?) institutions just download 90 days or so. But there are exceptions.
If you have come from another financial app, you can import transactions for prior years. Let us know.

I have been using Simplifi for over a year. These transactions have been available since I joined. I did not import from any other application. The historical data has just disappeared.

Then this is a serious problem. I hope Support can help you. I've never lost transactions in 4 years, and I would be highly perturbed if I did.
In the meantime, have you tried a different browser, checking to see if the transactions also are missing on the phone app? Tried incognito mode? These will be the first questions, the coaches will ask first.
Good luck!

Also missing on Mobile app - have not yet tried a different browser, but I am skeptical as to whether that will make a difference. Thank you for the input.

Yep, you are probably right but worth a try.

Hello @todd.r.king61,
Thanks for reaching out. As @SRC54 mentioned, I would definitely check in another browser/incognito mode first to verify if the issue is browser-related. Additionally to clarify, were these transactions originally imported into Quicken Simplifi, or were they built up/downloaded over the time you have been using Quicken Simplifi? Is your balance affected by the loss of transactions? And is it a manual account or a connected account?

OK, this is completely off the wall but just like making sure a piece of equipment is plugged in as the first troubleshooting step my son insists on when working as tech support…
Do you account transaction windows look like this for the missing months?
I know this is really crazy to ask and feel free to roll your eyes, but, if so, have you clicked on the arrowhead next to the months with missing data? Or are the months missing too?

@todd.r.king61 - I don't know if your missing transaction problem was resolved, but now I am seeing it in my accounts.
It doesn't look like any of the coaches have responded recently, so I'm tagging a couple here: @Coach Jon @Coach Natalie
Current Problem: Here are just two examples from my transaction activity (but all my accounts are like this):
»»USAA checking account previously had entries back to August, 2023. Now the earliest entry is January 3, 2024.
»»Chase Bank Visa previously had entries back to February, 2023. Now the earliest entry is January 1, 2024.
I have checked all my accounts, and none show any transactions earlier than January 1, 2024. It's as if 1/1/24 was used as a cutoff date and all transactions before that were dumped. Distressing…
Testing Done: I am using the web interface. I have tried (1) QS directly in Chrome, (2) QS directly in Edge, (3) the desktop shortcut for the Chrome web app, and (4) QS in a Chrome Incognito window. All show the same result.
Background: I started using Quicken Simplifi in January 2025. All earlier transactions (including the now-missing ones) were automatically downloaded when I set up my accounts by connecting to the banks' websites. Some of the accounts only downloaded transactions from 2024, but other accounts downloaded transactions as far back as February 2023.

@DryHeat, based on your description, the most common culprit would be Transactions on Demand. Check out the info here:
I see that my accounts are set to show "Since 2024", and I'm not sure if I set it that way, or maybe the default time range was updated with us being in a new year now. The latter would make sense to me since the purpose of limiting the transactional data is to improve performance, which could degrade again as time goes on if we don't have something in place to maintain the range.
Let us know if this fixes things for you!

Hello @DryHeat,
Thanks for reaching out! I am not seeing the same issue on my side. Is it possible that your Transaction Activity sort order was changed due to reviewing transactions or in error? For example, if you sorted the register by Category, your transactions will be grouped by Category rather than by Date. I would also check to see if your search history is cleared by clicking the gray circle with an X in the Search transactions field. I would also make sure Filters aren't being applied as well.
This may also be a situation where your Default Transaction History setting is set to show only transactions from a certain year. I would check this setting to make sure and change it if need be.
Let us know how this goes!

Transactions on Demand appears to have been the problem.
I don't believe I have ever seen that setting before, and I don't recall ever changing it. But, since I previously saw those early transactions, then didn't see them anymore, the setting must have been changed.
Like you, I'm wondering if some update changed the setting without my knowing it.
Or I could be getting senile… I would be the last to know…

(This is an interface suggestion related to the problem I had, but I'm not sure where to post it.)
I notice that the "gear" settings icon for changing the Transactions History Settings (or, as you call it, "Transactions on Demand") is invisible unless you happen to hover your mouse over it.
This is unlike the "gear" icon for column settings, which is always visible in Transaction Activity.
But it is sort of like the three-vertical-dot menu that only appears when you hover over column headings when looking at Transactions in a Planned Spending item.
I think making all of these settings icons constantly visible in the different parts of the program would (1) be more consistent and (2) lead to easier feature discovery by users.

@DryHeat, I think that would be a great suggestion to create an Idea post for so other users can vote on it!
