I really appreciate that QS has added the ability to view Notes in Watchlists and Reports

BUT I'd really like the Notes to remain "checked" on as the currently, when I go to another area in QS and come back to Reports or Watchlists, the Notes box is "unchecked"

This is one of those would be nice to have features. It's a little funny that years ago you could at least SELECT the columns to show, but it wouldn't save, now you can't even select the columns.

Today's another one of those days I wish this feature was here. With one vote, it was 'planned', mind you that was just 3 months ago, I know it's too soon to expect a fix, I just hope this isn't forgotten.

(The request for customized columns, which included a request to make them all "sticky", has been closed. So I've had to start a new one.)

It would be nice if column customizations made to any transaction display would stick.

It is now possible to customize the columns in the transaction displays in Spending Plan, but it's not obvious how to do it. You hover over a column heading, reveal the three-dot menu, and access "Manage columns."

However… the customization does not stick. To see this, click on "Other spending" and customize the columns. If you then click on "Planned spending" and click back to "Other spending." Your customization is gone.

I customize columns because that is how I want to see them. For example, I don't use Tags but I make liberal use of Notes. It's frustrating to have to hide the Tags and reveal the Notes every time I move to a different section.

After checking the Notes column in Reports, Watchlists and in the Spending Plan, it reverts back to unchecked if I leave the page and come back.

I would like it stay checked.

The information displayed within the columns in the transaction window is very limited as far as how much you can see when a transaction window is open. There is an option to edit these columns and de-select columns that aren't even being used, but these selections don't save and must be made each time the transaction window is opened. Very annoying and would help a ton if the selections made were saved so that each time you go back to the window, you can read all the information that you need to within the window.

Wondering if there is an update as to when this will be released.

Also, I don't understand why they removed the gear icon that wasn't working instead of fixing it? They have instead removed it, replaced it with less intuitive functionality (having to click the hidden ellipses over a column to 'manage columns') and we're back at square one with the column not sticking. As someone who works in software development, wouldn't it have been easier to just leverage the existing transaction grid on the main page for consistency?

I see this is planned to be added, I came to suggest the same, but voting is locked since it's planned. Posting here in hopes this thread is updated when it's released.

If there is another way to get alerts when a specific features is released, without having to read the entire release notes on new versions, please let me know.

It's great that we can now edit Notes inline in transactions listed under Reports, Spending Plan, etc.

I hope this is an indication that this suggestion will soon be implemented and we will be able to set Notes to always appear in those transaction lists. That would make the new inline editing ability much more useful.

I find it really inconvenient that the columns reset away from what I customize to everytime I leave a specific spending goal screen or transaction screen. For instance, when I am looking through my spending plan and want to move transactions from "other spending" to a catagory in "planned spending" it resets the columns away from what I have previously chosen. I tend to use notes more than tags, and for whatever reason that column is not deemed improtant for a default setting, similarly I rarely need to see if the status is pending or cleared, but that one always repopulates on the screen. Better memory of settings in the app would be great.

edit: oops voting is closed, this has been 'coming soon' for a while now, perhaps they are waiting for the upcoming register changes being worked on, then may bring that into reports (?).

For the love of God, update the app to save the preferred columns for the planned spend transaction registers. I use Tags and Notes extensively, and it's nuts that I have to re-add both columns to the layout every time I view a transaction register under a planned spend category. At first I assumed I must be doing something wrong, but apparently not. There is simply no way to save the revised layout after taking the time to customize it with my preferred columns. What a terrible user experience this is. How can a customized view be made available to users, but then the app doesn't save the changes? Being a software engineer myself, this is unbelievable to me. It's such an obvious flaw, and has remained unresolved at least a year. This feature already exists for the primary transaction screen. How in the world was it not implemented for the planned spend?

In Simplifi, I have de-selected "Checkbox selection" and would like to save this setting! I do not want to see it. Every time I go to another area and return, that column is back!

I like for it to always be on so having it stick is my preference rather than changing it to always default to off.

NEWS FLASH!

The transaction lists for Planned Spend expense series are remembering my column settings!

I set them to show the Notes column and not to show the Invoice column and those settings "stuck" when I changed to a different expense series.

I went to another part of the app (the main Transactions Activity list) and, when I came back to Planned Spend, the columns were still the way I set them.

Version: 6.12.0 (65228/ec69d8a391) — Early Access.

(Other Spend still has amnesia, but I'm guessing/hoping that will be the next step.)
