Switching from Simplifi to Simplifi Business & Personal (edited)

I’m in the trial period for Simplifi and now realize that Quicken Business and Personal is probably going to be a better fit for me. I’ve done quite a bit of work in Simplifi. I’ve read conflicting information as if I can use my current data in Simplifi when I start Business and Personal. Do I have to start over or can I port over my Simplifi data to be used on the “Personal” side of Business and Personal. Thanks for the clarification.

No need to start over! QBP is basically added modules/functionality that get appended to your existing Simplifi. The two look identical except for new buttons.

I found the list of QBP support articles:
But…
is there an article or thread somewhere that lays out exactly what capabilities are added by QBP? I haven't been able to find an overview like that, so I end up trying to piece the picture together from the separate articles. Also, do you know if there is a way to free trial the upgrade QBP? And if you do free trial it, is it easy to roll back to regular QS without disturbing the existing data?
I wonder about that because, for example, the article on "Spaces" says this, which makes it look like rollback is not easy:

Hello @TTT4646,
Thanks for the good questions. The 30-day refund is based on the date of purchase, so if a user were to upgrade or purchase a new subscription, it would consider the purchase starting from that day for that period. As for upgrading your subscription to include Quicken Business & Personal, you can reach out to support directly to do that, and I am sure they will answer any questions you have on the subscription as well.

@DryHeat @TTT4646 Here is a link that talks about many of the features in Quicken Business & Personal. It doesn't list every feature, but I'm happy to answer any questions about what features it currently has. This is a new product that was just launched in January, so we're definitely missing some features but we're adding new ones as fast as we can. If something isn't there, please let me know! Your requests will help prioritize new work. Spaces is really a feature within your Quicken Business & Personal account. If you switch back and forth between Quicken Simplifi and Quicken Business & Personal, your data will not change. You'll either gain or lose certain features.

I tried to contact support and got the following answer, which doesn't really clear things up for me:
"Unfortunately, we don't offer a free trial for Quicken Business & Personal.
Our Quicken Simplifi subscription and Quicken Business & Personal are separate products, so you can't directly switch or combine them.
However, we do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for our products if they don't meet your needs. For more information on Quicken Business & Personal pricing and features, I
recommend speaking with one of our product coaches.
I have about 10 months left on my current QS subscription. The support center answer makes it look like I will just lose the value of that if I were to subscribe to QBP now. Is that right?
I understood that QBP just added some features to QS. But to add those features, I have to buy a whole new product and write off the remaining subscription on the product I already have? That doesn't seem very fair.
Am I understanding this correctly?

@DryHeat, it sounds like that's a bot response. As recommended, please select to speak to an agent. Our Chat Support Team will have the tools to help you upgrade your subscription to QBP without losing any time or money, and they'll be able to answer your question about the 30-day money-back guarantee. Aside from basic things like cancellations, subscription management isn't something we handle here in the Community.
Feel free to post back with your findings, though, in case it helps other users!

@Coach Natalie "As recommended, please select to speak to an agent."
I'm not sure what "As recommended" means here, as no one on this thread has mentioned an "agent" until now.
I get that you are saying "Don't chat with the bot" and "Ignore the bot telling you to talk to the coaches."
But are you also saying "Don't use the chat, actually speak to someone on a voice call?"
I prefer chat because it makes a better record of advice, but I'll call if that's what you actually mean.

@DryHeat, in the response you copied and pasted above, it says "I recommend speaking with one of our product coaches" — this is where this was recommended.
You need to reach out to Chat Support and select the option to speak to an agent. You don't need to talk to anyone on the phone, you just need to get past the bot response and speak to a person. There should be an option to do so when messaging us from the Help Center. The article I linked above goes over contacting Chat Support from the Web App, the Mobile App, and the Help Site.
I hope this helps clarify!

You were right about contacting a live agent. All I had to do is click the "get more help" button in the chat. A different coach came on within a minute.
For any who may be interested, here is how the upgrade deal was presented to me.
(1) I get a full refund on my two-month old QS subscription when I cancel to upgrade.
(2) The upgraded subscription to QBP starts today and will be at 50% off for the first year.
(3) If I don't like QBP I will be able to cancel the new subscription within 30 days and resubscribe to QS at the reduced initial rate.I took it… what's not to like?

Thank you both for throughly answering my question. The coaches should pin this thread, because I’m sure it is a frequent question. I searched the boards prior to posting the question and no other thread even came close to answering the questions along with the details on actually how to do it. Thanks to @DryHeat for actually following through with the switch and posting the result of his interaction. Super helpful!

@Coach Natalie "that's a pretty sweet deal!"
Very sweet… Averaging the QPB cost over the 14 months usage I'm getting, it's like I'm getting the QPB upgrade for $0.50/month.
The way I look at it, I get to use the QPB features until next March (pretty much for free) and see how it develops. If business-related tax and budgeting features mature it will be a great deal. If they don't, I can switch back then and I haven't lost anything.
I think anyone who has any interest in the business features should take this deal while it's available.
