Why Are Account Roll-Up Totals Incorrect? (edited)

Howdy, folks.
I'm new to Simplifi, but a long time user of Quicken and Quickbooks. Hoping someone can help sort an oddity out.
In my list of Accounts, the category roll-up total of one account doesn't sum correctly, specifically my crypto portfolio. I have added the account manually (rather than a linked exchange) because everything is in cold storage, and the symbols (i.e. *BTCUSD) are correct (they pull the right price and sum properly based on holdings) but they just don't add up at the top level However when I drill down to the manual entries the subtotal is correct. My other linked accounts for investments and banking are all just fine.
For example:
- INVESTMENTS (roll-up total incorrect because value of the manual account is wrong)
- Brokerage Account (connected Schwab, amount correct)
- Manual Account (Crypto cold storage) - Amount is INCORRECT
- Account total CORRECT
- Holding 1 (amount correct)
- Holding 2 (amount correct)
- Holding 3 (amount correct)…
- Account total CORRECT
- IRA Account (connected Schwab, amount correct)
In other words, the subtotal on the lowest level (symbol/holdings view) view is correct but the next highest level (account list view) is misreported and thus the entire higher levels like investment portfolio (and therefore net worth) is likewise wrong.
I hope I've explained this clearly. Can someone help?

Hello @BobThings,
Thanks for reaching out! I can see how this might be a little confusing. Manual Holdings information gets updated automatically during nightly aggregation as long as a valid ticker symbol is used. The Accounts List balance you see is updated differently. When the account is connected, the balance shown in the Accounts List is provided by the bank during aggregation. When the account is manual, Quicken Simplifi will base the Accounts List balance on the Holdings. Since they update at different times, the balances may not always align exactly.
I hope this helps!

Ah. Latency. Got it.
That makes sense except that the app does update when I drill down to view individual positions and rolls that up to a topline, it's just when I view the aggregated amount one level higher that doesn't add properly. That seems to be more of a code issue for the total to not simply pull the correct value from the asset roll-up.
That said, is there a way the balances can be updated more frequently? Not hourly (I understand it's too much traffic), but perhaps at least 2 or 4 times a day, since Crypto trades 24x7x365? Why would this asset class be any less worthy than TradFi brokerage? It's good to know where one stands through the day.

Hello @BobThings,
Thanks for the reply! I know that in connected investment accounts, this information can vary based on when the account was last refreshed and when share prices are updated. However, with a manual investment account, there is not currently a way to update this information more frequently, as the balance for manual investment accounts in the Account List is updated during nightly aggregation.
I would see about creating an idea post for this topic, as this would allow other users to vote for, chime in, and follow the idea as well.

Jon, I must not be explaining myself clearly.
The manual account I use to track my crypto investments calculates correctly and refreshes every time, reliably, whenever I check it during the day or night for the value of the category (account) holdings.
It's when the total of that account value is presented in the total for Investments that it is NOT correct. If the manual account refreshes, and the value of the holdings is correct, then how can the upstream category total be wrong? Obviously, that also carries upstream and affects total net worth calculations as well.
To make my point further, all my TradFi holdings (Schwab for brokerage and IRA) calculate correctly in their respective sums, as do other banking accounts, so this isn't an API data update issue to me, it's a bug in how Simplifi manages manual accounts.
I've never seen a program where sometimes 2+2=3 and other times 2+2=6, though I'd much prefer if the latter were true. ;-)
Hope I'm making sense…

Hello @BobThings,
The balance for manual investment accounts in the Account List is updated during nightly aggregation. In contrast, the Investments tab displays the real-time balance of your manual investment account. This would not be a bug in this case. If you believe that Quicken Simplifi should not calculate the Account List balance this way, I would still suggest submitting an idea post. This way, we can gauge user interest and feedback.
Thank you,
Coach Jon
