Argh, I just noticed another issue. I have several accounts with the bank. When I did briefly reconnect them, I was prompted to match each bank account with its existing account in Simplifi. I was careful to match each one. However, one of the accounts synced transactions to two different Simplifi accounts anyway, duplicating those transactions in both accounts.
I removed the duplicated transactions from the wrong account, but since some of them were matched to the other side of bank transfers, it removed those transfer connections and set them to Uncategorized. I had to reset them manually.
I think I have it sorted out now, but it was pretty annoying. Happy share details if it would help solve this issue.
