Will the goal of Simplifi ever be to emulate the reporting capabilities of Quicken Deskttop?
I’ve been a Quicken user since the days of DOS, and only last year transitioned to Simplifi. While I genuinely like the overall performance of it, my only regret is surrendering the incredible reporting capabilities of the desktop version. My question is whether that is something the development team believes is worth emulating. One of the biggest being the ability to save a report by name. The present reporting abilities in Simplifi are my only regret to switching. I remember prior to the switch reading more than a few reviews stating that the reporting features were not a high priority as is evidenced by their limited features. That being said, be assured I believe it to be a phenomenal product overall.

I believe that the reporting capabilities will continue to improve in Simplifi, but I doubt seriously that Simplifi reports will ever rival those of Quicken Classic. It comes down to a philosophical (not to mention business decision) that was made that most users don't need or want all the bells and whistles of the Classic product. This is just my impression as a fellow user.
For example, printing of reports and exporting them have gained features this past year although some of this is only seen in Early Access at this point. I hope to see more of this.
The best thing we can do is keep making suggestions and voting on them. I too would like to see the ability to name and save reports and to be able to export to PDF the report the way it looks on the screen (with collapsed categories and payee totals) as well as to be able to save it that way.
For example the tax report is way more detailed than I need and takes several pages to print. I still use the one in Classic.
Here's an example of an idea I submitted. You can see what you are up against. I have only one vote: mine! 😁 I probably needed to make the suggestion broader to apply to all reports, to save them in the form you have them on the screen. For example, the Expense and Income Report looks great on screen, but when you export a whole year by months and export it to PDF, it gets so sliced up over several pages that it is rather hard to deal with.
