Ability to Link multiple Transactions to a single Recurring Bill at one time (edited)

UPVOTE!!! I have spent over 6 hours manually attaching transactions to recurring bills. I also do not understand why I can't start a recurring bill in the past when Simplifi has all my past transactions data. If I could do that and rely on Simplifi to search and auto link my past transactions to a recurring bill that owl work too.

UPVOTE again. I'm still dealing with missing transactions from recurring bills

Upvoted. Why has this not been done yet? It's been two years since the initial poster and it's pretty obvious that this would be a nice feature.

I recently had to do something like this, and didn't have to do it one transaction at a time.
I went to the Transactions page and selected, for example, Alliant Energy. Using Bulk Edit, I was able to assign all of these transactions to Utility → Gas.
I used this procedure for just about all of my recurring bills and it worked pretty well for me. I had several thousand transactions categorized and tagged in less than 15 minutes.

Yes, this works for re-categorizing, @ajbopp . What we are looking to do here is to assign all payments done to Home: Rent to the rent bill series we set up to show historical rent payments. The only way to do this is to go transaction by transaction.

I often find myself paying an expected bill with more than one payment. It would be nice to be able to link multiple transactions to one bill.

The request below has 73 votes and sounds like your need above. If this request fulfills your need, vote for it. More votes increase the chances for consideration.
In the meantime, you can link multiple transactions to one recurring series by linking each transaction individually.

Hello,
I had to reconnect my bank this morning, and when I did so, it highlighted recurring items that I had. I tried to exit out but it ended up removing my recurring income items. I had to manually reconnect each entry back to the series. This is necessary so that the spending plan gets the income into the right bucket.
Would it be possible to allow the selection of multiple entries and then have a one click update to link them to a recurring series, under the edit transactions function? In the same way that a mass payee or category change is done.0 -
Please add this feature, as others have mentioned can already bulk update a number of transaction details but not just add them to a recurring series.

This is needed, but ultimately only because Simplifi is so poor at recognizing small deviations that cause it to get lost and force human (customer) intervention. Ideally the code which groups recurring transactions improves rather than pushing this burden onto the customer, but at the very least this should be fixed while Quicken fixes the larger issue.

Adding my vote for this feature request.
An example would be my subscription to YoutubeTV and its addon services (HBO, 4K, Sports+, etc.)…
I am charged separately and on different dates for the base plan and each of the addon services. I would like to be able to group these transactions under a single bill instead of creating 3+ different bills that are coming from the same service.

Why has this very basic feature request not been added yet. The "add each one indivually" is super painful — especially if you've imported from Mint and have hundreds of transactions to link. Please add this feature.

Mint import is no longer an option so this likely is not a priority.

Crazy this still isnt available. Makes transition to this product so painful.

Wanting to note that I'm looking for this so that in months when I don't pay a particular bill (or receive money for a particular bill) in just one transaction, I can link all of the relevant transactions to the bill.
For instance, my sublessee owes me $900 in rent each month, but sometimes they'll pay it in parts ($400 in one transaction and $500 in another). I want to link those both to the same recurring income item.
Similarly, sometimes I make my credit card payment in a couple of transactions over the month; if I'm trying to pay $1,000, I might do it in 2 or 3 chunks. I'd want to be able to link all of those transactions to the same recurring bill.
Thanks so much!
