What's the difference between a Question and Discussion?

Perhaps a foolish question about how to use the community posting facility properly.

It's something I've pondered when posting also.

When a user has a question about how to do something, it's a question. How do I split a transaction? Can I reconcile my accounts in Simplifi? Are Second Federal Community Bank downloads supported by Simplifi?

In addition, when you choose to post a new question, and someone responds, it will trigger the option: did this answer your question? Yes / No?

But if you want to discuss how things are done, whether or not they should be done that way, report a problem or suggest new ways to do something, then it's a discussion.

Most of the times when I post something new, it's a discussion.

At least, that is how I interpret it. (See your question below that I didn't answer!)

Edit: While we are talking about community posting, the coaches not only provide support but act as monitors so they can edit posts, change something from a question to a discussion or vice versa, or even delete off topic posts like my silly non-answer to your other question below, which I may well deserve!
