Rules aren’t applying to transaction
please see attached. I had a rule to recategorize a “schoolofmusic” transaction but it still shows as “tuition”. Does the letter case matter? The original statement is all caps. Is it because it’s pending? It’s also part of a series but the category didn’t change. What am i missing?

I noticed you mentioned that the transactions in question are recurring. According to this recent discussion, transactions linked to recurring are not eligible to have rules applied to them:
So this is likely the cause of what you're experiencing. If you'd like to see a change made to this area of the program, creating an Idea post would be the way to go:
Otherwise, you can manually change the categories on the transactions:
And if you're able to use the Quicken Simplifi Web App, you can bulk edit the transactions to make things easier:
