I tried to print a report and it did not go well. I was using Safari on macOS with an HP Officejet Pro 9010 printer. I quickly encountered two significant limitations:
- Customizing the inclusion/exclusion of columns and column widths does not carry forward when printing. I got the same set and width of columns regardless of the on-screen customizations.
- When page orientation is set to portrait, the text preview of the print shows the page in portrait but the report rotated 90 degrees so it still prints in landscape orientation. Switching the orientation to landscape results in the report being clipped on both short sides. Scaling the output didn't help.
Printing (and export as PDF) feel broken for anything other than printing a landscape report in portrait format. I took a quick at Windows 11 Pro for ARM with the same printer and saw the same behavior.
I get that printers and printing is hard and this is all new to Simplifi (but not to Quicken) but, at a minimum, there should be on-screen warnings if these behaviors that are this limited. The functionality that is shipping today is better than not having printing/export at all but the limitations need to be better documented.
Is this the same experience as in the Business and Personal Version?
