Feedback regarding closed accounts, transfers, and reconciliation (edited)

I had a CD that the came due so we closed it into our checking account.

1. Once the account was closed you can't manually add the remaining interest and have it show on the right side with the other balances.

2. Went to close the CD to the checking and you can't transfer from another Asset. What??? This is a normal occurence.

3. There isn't a reconcile feature. There should be! Very important step in making sure you have all of your transactions.

4. Making a loan payment from checking - again you can't transfer money from checking to a loan. Again - what???

Was looking for decent software at a decent price for my personal books. This is not it.

Please don't use it for your business, you will be VERY sorry.

Making a loan payment from checking - again you can't transfer money from checking to a loan.

I'm not sure about your other issues, but I transfer funds from one asset account to another all the time.

"Other Asset" to "Checking," "Checking" to "Savings," "Checking" to "Credit Card" — these are common transactions in my accounts.

Are you using the methods described in the article below? Maybe you just need to tweak your process.

It sounds like you would have liked to reopen your closed CD account to add more transactions. Here is a feature request you might want to vote for:

There has been a lot of discussion about a reconciliation feature, and why it is unlikely to happen because of the way Simplifi maintains the correct balance. And there have been discussions of workarounds too.

As for workarounds, they usually involve flagging transactions by color and/or not marking transactions as reviewed until one gets the monthly statement.
