How to set up a monthly recurring transaction that has a fixed amount and variable

My monthly water bill has a variable water charge and fixed service contract. I just spent 45 minutes in discussion with the Simplifi AI bot and got conflicting information. Here is what I ended up woth. Can anyone verify that this will work properly if the bill comes in at ether over or under the set series amount:

Monthly Series amount = $110

First split - category = "Service Contract", amount = $45.85. This amount is fixed and will be charged every month.

Second split - category = "Water", amount =$64.16. This amount will very from month to month.

Third split  - category = "Water", amount = "Overflow"

I understand what you are doing and I believe that it will work, but I can't swear to it.

I have a series set up just like that (in my case the 3rd and 4th splits are for the same category, with the 4th being "overflow").

I think it worked correctly last time, and that after the fact I went in and consolidated the 3rd and 4th splits because they were the same category. But I don't have a perfectly clear memory of doing so, so I can only say I think it works. In any event, trying it for a month shouldn't cause any problems.

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the prompt reply.

The issue is not the "Amount Matching" setting. It is the "Overflow". Insuring that any $$ over or under the set amount will be credited/debited from the "Water" category. Appreciate if you can take another look at this.
