I am looking for help from the Quicken Simplifi team or community regarding ongoing issues with my Target Circle Card account. These issues started around August 14, 2025, and have persisted for over a year now. Because this is one of our most heavily used accounts, the constant breakdown in syncing makes tracking expenses in Simplifi extremely frustrating. Here are the two distinct issues I am experiencing:
Issue 1: Custom Categories Revert Back to "Shopping"
- The Problem: Every time a Target Circle Card transaction syncs, I manually edit the category to reflect what was actually purchased (e.g., changing it to Groceries, Clothing, etc.).
- The Behavior: Simplifi retains my custom category briefly (sometimes for a day or so), but at a later point in time, it automatically reverts back to the default "Shopping" category.
- Troubleshooting Already Tried:
- Not a Pending vs. Cleared issue: This reversion happens whether the transaction is Pending or fully Cleared.
- Not bulk-edited: I change each item individually.
- No active Rules conflicting: I have zero custom Rules configured in Settings > Rules.
- Payee Name is unaffected: The Payee name remains fine; it is only the Category field being overwritten.
It appears the background sync cycle continually polls the Target Circle Card feed and forcibly overwrites manual category edits with the aggregator's default "Shopping" tag.
Issue 2: Massive Transaction Drop-off (<50% Appearing)
- The Problem: Less than half of the actual transactions made on this Target Circle Card ever make it into Simplifi.
- The Behavior: There is no clear pattern or logic to which transactions clear through the feed and which ones are skipped entirely. Missing transactions occur across various dollar amounts, dates, and purchase types.
Summary & Request
- Scope: This issue is isolated exclusively to the Target Circle Card. All of my other connected financial institutions and credit cards work as expected.
- Impact: Since over half of transactions are missing and the remaining ones continually lose their assigned categories, the account is essentially unusable in Simplifi without manual CSV workarounds.
Has anyone else encountered this persistent feed degradation with Target Circle Card?
To the Simplifi Support Team: Could you please investigate the aggregation handle/script for the Target Circle Card feed for my account, or advise on how to stop background sync polls from overwriting manually updated categories? I have sought help before and nothing has worked.
