Simplifi's flashing and animated elements are harmful to anyone with motion sensitivity, and for some users they may trigger seizures. There is also almost no keyboard navigation. If these aren't fixed, I will have to stop using the product.
- Row highlighting in the transactions view flashes rapidly as the mouse moves across transactions. Scrolling the list triggers rapid flashing.
- No setting to turn off flashing or animation, including button highlights and text that repeatedly types itself into text boxes as a prompt.
- Animated popups keep appearing when I edit transactions inline.
- Tab and arrow keys don't behave as expected, so the site is largely unusable without a mouse.
- These issues appear to get worse with each new feature.
These may implicate WCAG 2.1 Level A criteria 2.1.1 (Keyboard) and 2.2.2 (Pause, Stop, Hide). The row-highlight flashing should be tested against 2.3.1 (Three Flashes or Below Threshold).
Requested fixes: a reduce-motion setting (and respect for the OS-level prefers-reduced-motion setting), removal of the rapid row-highlight flashing, full keyboard operability, and removal or de-animation of the inline-edit popups. Please advise on a fix and timeline.
Support experience: I contacted chat support first and was told to submit feedback on the separate Community page. Reporting there was itself a barrier. I had to log in, the feedback page offered no way to submit, and a small corner popup said I needed to verify my email. No verification email arrived until I had it resent, and then I had to complete multiple more rounds of verification before I could log in to report. Chat support eventually said they had logged my notes in an internal ticket, but also said product managers rely on Community votes to prioritize work. Accessibility requirements shouldn't depend on a community voting process or on users clearing this many hurdles to report harm. Please confirm this has reached the product team directly, and share the ticket reference.
