I'd like to see an option to reset or change the individual associated with the Credit Score feature without having to create an entirely new Quicken Simplifi account.
My situation:
My parents shared a Simplifi account that was originally set up under my father's information. Unfortunately, my father passed away, and my mother has continued using their existing Simplifi account to manage her finances.
We've updated the account's login information and other details, but the Credit Score feature is still tied to my father's identity. It now displays a score of 0, and there's no apparent option to remove his credit monitoring information and register my mother instead.
Starting over with a new Simplifi account would mean potentially losing years of financial history, categories, reports, and other settings we've built up.
Suggested functionality:
- Allow users to disconnect or reset the existing Credit Score enrollment.
- Provide a way to register a different individual through a new identity verification process.
- Support situations involving the death of a spouse, divorce, or changes in household account ownership.
- Preserve existing financial accounts, transaction history, categories, and reports when changing the monitored person.
- Alternatively, allow multiple household members to have separate credit score profiles within a shared Simplifi account.
I understand that credit monitoring involves sensitive personal information and identity verification, so this should require appropriate security checks.
The main goal is to avoid having to start over with an entirely new financial account just because the person originally associated with credit monitoring is no longer the person using it.
This seems especially relevant for couples who jointly manage finances and want to maintain continuity when their circumstances change.
