Ability to merge transactions across different/multiple accounts (edited)

This might be only a “me” problem but here’s my idea/need

I use PayPal to pay some things and that money comes from my checking account since I don’t store money in my PayPal account. So when looking at Simplifi transactions I would love if there was a way to merge those entries into one (since the positive to the PayPal account comes from the negative in the checking). This is just one example

Maybe there is and I missed it?

But I have a lot of “Cross account” transactions and it would be great if there was a way to mark that/ show them together and streamline the ledger.

I personally solve this by not using paypal as an 'account'.  When I buy something, it is charged to whatever account it is charged to from paypal, and the transaction is typically something like "PP*NYTimes" in the target account (PP* indicating it was purchased with paypal), but it's treated like an original purchas e.  Unless you store money on paypal, there's no reason to track it as an account.

  • I see that, and that’s a fair point.

I do have some bills that auto pay from PayPal that I still want to track

I am new to Simplifi though so it’s good to hear other ideas

Hi @s36x welcome to Simplifi.   I rarely use paypal and my wife only occasionally for purchases.  Like Robert, I don’t have it set up as an account.
