Provide an indication that an action was not ignored/did not silently fail (edited)

It looks like most actions on the app take longer as more people use it. Until the delay issue is resolved (and even after that) it might be a good idea to provide some sort of an indication that my request was not ignored/did not silently fail. 

Example: when I mark a transaction as reviewed, the check mark takes a few seconds to appear.

expected behavior:
the check mark appears faded out and changes to a normal check mark once the request succeeds.
