Manual account balance view
Do the Bank Balance and Balance with Pending options not apply to a manual account? I have the Apple Card which you cannot link to Simplifi. The balance shown is the entire balance. I want to change it to the cleared balance because with the AC you can only pay what has cleared. You cannot pay extra. I tried both views leaving some extended time in between the changes, but it still shows the full amount.

I think I answered my own question.

Hello @pawebb,
Yes, it looks like the article you referenced states: "Note: For manual accounts (accounts not connected to the bank), Simplifi calculates the balance by using the sum of all of the transactions that have been entered into the account. Therefore, regardless of the status, all transactions in a manual account will impact the balance."
The 'Balance with Pending' option is for connected accounts, and it allows users the ability to disable pending transactions from being counted since banks usually provide a balance that doesn't include pending. Or, in the case that the bank provides a balance that does include pending and Simplifi is counting them again, disabling pending transactions from being counted resolves the balance mismatch.
Just leaving this here for any users viewing this post. 🙂

That is the opposite of what I thought that option meant. I thought that meant it would include pending transactions in the total. Is there a way to include pending transactions?

Hello @pawebb,
Bank Balance = The balance provided by the bank.
Balance with Pending = The balance provided by the bank +/- pending transactions (transactions in a "pending" state in Simplifi).
You'd use "Bank Balance" if you don't want Simplifi to deduct pending transactions from the balance provided by the bank. However, manual account balances are gathered by the sum of all of the transactions, so regardless of the status, or the balance setting for the account, the transaction will count toward the balance.
I hope this helps!
