Entering Categories on mobile app is frustrating. (edited)

Greetings,

Personally, I've always found entering and editing transactions to be much easier/faster on mobile. I still think this, with one exception. With the most recent version of the mobile app (4.10.1) on an iPhone SE, assigning Categories to individual transactions has become rather tedious. For some reason, I have to hit the dot at least 3-4 times before it is actually selected. I suspect it has something to do with the size of the target window for each individual dot and right now that size is just supper small. It's made worse since the button is right on the edge of the screen so you have to practically tap with half your finger off the screen.

Not the end of the world, but tedious.

    I see what you mean. I opened the mobile app on my Galaxy S21 and did some testing on several transactions. I had to click in the select.circle 3 times before it would "go blue."

    On my screen the circle/dot didn't seem too small, just not responsive. I do believe this is a bug that needs looking into.

    Can also confirm that this is happening on my S23 Ultra - I believe i counted 5 times tapping the category before it 'took'. One more oddity, for me it didn't turn blue, it just selected the category and filled it in. I agree with @DannyB that it wasn't too small, it just seemed to reequire multiple taps.

    Thanks for reporting this and sharing your feedback, although I'm sorry to hear this is happening to you all.

    I just tested on my Android and didn't experience any problem at all with selecting a Category on both a new and an existing transaction. It seems that I can click anywhere on the line (i.e. the name, the dot, or anywhere in between) and it will select the Category and close the pop-up with no hesitation.

    With that said, let's have you all perform an uninstall/reinstall to see if the performance improves.

    @Coach Natalie Without reinstalling it's working fast tonight, one tap selects— I suspect there may have been a delay on the server/cloud side that was preventing the taps from registering right away.

    If I tap anywhere on the item line instant selection. If I try just tapping on the dot only it's hit and miss... my guess is that it's more a matter of my device than the app. I don't use the app for categorizing very often so nota big deal and tapping.the item or the item line is easier for me on a small screen anyway.

    No, it's the app, it happens when i click the dot — it doesn't repsond. I have to tap the name for an instant response. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app does not help. It's almost as if it would be better if the dot wasn't there.

    It seems to me the don't is not there to make the selection only to show what is selected. I can make the selection by simply tapping on the desired item and the dot going solid assures me of m y selection.

    Hey All!

    Lo and behold, I am now seeing the issue with clicking the dot directly. I'm not sure if this is by design, but it doesn't make sense to me and seems funky, so I reported it. I'll let you all know when I hear back. 🙂
