Why in the spending plan is my car payment showing up in the planned spending category and the other spending category?

My guess would be that there isn't yet an item under Bills (or Subscriptions) for your car payment. Any expense that isn't accounted for there will show up in Planned or Other Spending.

To fix, create a recurring payment payment in Bills.

Did you set your car payment up as a transfer (i.e. category is a transfer subcategory which is the target account name)? Also, if you did, did you make sure that you did not hide just one side of the transaction from the spending plan (i.e. both sides must either be unhidden or hidden, or it will count as a charge or credit depending on the one side that is unhidden).

If you did it this way, it should only show up under "TRANSFERS" on the 'income after bills and savings' section, and it should have zero effect on your spending plan (purchasing the car was spending, interest might be spending, but making payments is not spending).
