Forum error when redirect from app

I was referred to this [removed] forum by the in-app chat assistant. I appeared to have automatically authenticated and logged in, but when I tried to create a topic/discussion I was met with a failed nonce/csrf token error
After logging out and logging back in (to the forum), I was prompted to create a username. This step allowed me to create a discussion thread, but I was never presented with that form when I was sent from the app chat assist session.
