Category Changes

I'm a new user to Simplifi from Mint. I was pretty excited about the transition, but have been coming across many bugs. Unfortunately, after spending hours categorizing thousands of transactions from the past couple of years, many were incorrectly re-categorized. For example, my credit card payments have all been categorized as "Hair" and all of my groceries have been categorized as "Health" even though there are clear rules to mark them as "Groceries." Any advice or suggestions to fix these issues?

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately, these were not helpful. The issues did not happen during the import, but after I changed categories later. I have rules determining which categories should be assigned, and those categories do not match what Simplifi is actually assigning. I have attached more pictures as examples. This issue seems to be centered around 1 account (Discover), as the same "Payees" on other accounts are categorized correctly.

Sounds like you have issues with the rule configuration. I defer to @Coach Kristina or @Coach Kristina

@hsummers, thanks for posting to the Community!

It sounds like you may have incorrectly applied a change to all transactions, which can be quite easy to do when editing transactions or creating Transaction Rules in Quicken Simplifi. To clarify, do you manually enter transactions, import them from a CSV, or download them from the bank? If the latter, what happens with newly downloaded transactions?

Have you tried deleting and recreating the Transaction Rules in question to see if doing so helps to clear things up for you? You should then be able to apply that change to past transactions to correct the incorrect categorization that occurred.
