Add a Report for Transfers (edited)

Now that Transfers has become its own section in the Savings Plan, I think it would be useful to have a Transfers Report.

I'm thinking of something that would list all transfers that have occurred in a given time period. It would be able to filter in various ways

By account from/to and/or from/to (only show transfers from the checking account, regardless of where the transfers went / only show transfers from checking to savings)
Date range

The report would be helpful if it showed an average (like watchlists) of the amount transferred by month, so that number could be plugged into the savings plan and reflected in the cash flow report.

@ajbopp, I think what it comes down to is whether you want a specific Report for Transfers, or if you're okay with Transfers being able to be pulled into the already offered Reports. If the latter, we can merge your request with the existing one.

@Coach Natalie I was thinking of a separate report. Integrating transfer data into existing reports doesn't seem to have much value to me.

After re-reading the request I linked, @ajbopp 's request is different than the request we linked, which reads "My suggestion is to make an option where you can make one side of the transfer visible on reports"\

I can see this has been requested before but I'd like to add to it. I would like to be able to create a report that summarizes transfers from/to specific accounts. The use case is the following:

I have some external accounts (not in Quicken for various reasons) from which I regularly transfer money into my main checking account. These irregular transfers supplement my regular personal income which isn't sufficient to cover my expenses. I don't want to categorize those transfers as "income" because they aren't. Having a "transfer" report that summarizes those or other transfer payments (e.g. credit card payments) would be very useful. I don't understand why it isn't already available. This seems like it should be a simple thing. Maybe there is a trick to accomplish the same but browsing the various requests for this features hasn't turned up anything. To reiterate, I do not want this to show up as "income".

I upvoted this. Usually we don't want transfers included in reports, but there are times when it could be useful, especially in asset reports. QC allows their inclusion as an option.

I would love to be able to run a transfers report. I'm using a Mortgage Escrow account to accrue the amounts impounded each month towards Insurance and Property taxes. Then when the payment gets made, I record the actual payment amount against the Insurance or Property Tax expense. I made a mistake on one of these, and it took me an hour to find it because I couldn't just run a report.

I do the same for my escrow account but I just filter the transactions list by the correct accounts/categories to see all the transactions I need. I haven't seen the need for a report yet.
