Ability to re-import exported CSV files (edited)

Two of my investment accounts were erroneously marked "closed" after importing from Mint, which makes it impossible to link these transactions after manually connecting. The "closed" designation cannot be removed, and a newly connected account cannot be linked to a "closed" account. So I'm forced to export my transactions from Simplifi and re-import to the now connected account (or pare down and re-import my Mint JSON or CSV, which has its own quirks).

It's silly that this export/import process from Simplifi to Simplifi isn't streamlined. I have to modify the export file before it can be reimported.

It should be very straightforward to export an account's transactions via CSV, delete the account, add a new one, and then import the CSV file back into it. At least, one would think. (I was asked to do this today by customer support because one of my manual credit card accounts wasn't adding my account balance correctly. And that was only an issue because Simplifi stopped working with Discover cards a few days ago.)

But no, while the exported CSV seems to include all the fields in the account, when you try to import the file back, it fails. The export isn't formatted in the way in the import expects! That was certainly a surprise, since the export and import use the same standard CSV method and it's the same product, presumably designed by software engineers who work for the same company.

But even if you massage the CSV file so it's in the format required for importing, you realize it won't allow importing all the fields it exported. For example, I had hundreds of transactions in an account, and I had taken the time to categorize all the expenditures. Simplifi EXPORTED all the fields, including categories, but it doesn't provide for IMPORTING categories. Seriously?

This would be a trivially simple software modification. Not to mention how illogical it is to allow exporting data from Simplifi but not to allow importing those same fields. Not sure how this oversight slipped through QA.

Please make import and export consistent by including all the fields both directions; one shouldn't have to reformat a .CSV file exported from Simplifi into a format Simplifi can import! And all fields in the account records should be included in the .CSV files, whether exporting or importing.
