Wealthsimple disabled Mint token authentication in Nov 2023, Simplifi still asks for Token to setup?

If you can't look at the Add Account screen within Quicken Simplifi and see asking for Mint Token instead of Password is incorrect, I don't have confidence you could look at the logs to find the "real problem". Thanks anyway.

Stupid question here, but … Simplifi is a web app, no? What logs are there to share? Logs are on the server side ( normally ), not client …

Hello everyone!
We have a new alert up for Wealthsimple that you can follow here:
Unfortunately, it looks like Wealthsimple no longer supports Quicken Simplifi. We will be sure to update the alert if that changes in the future. We appreciate your patience!

Is there any movement on the Wealthsimple issue? The method of connecting suggested by Quicken just does not work (it asks for a "Mint access token", and that functionality has not been in Wealthsimple for awhile now. I'm not sure why you would need any additional information. The connector is simple not working, and can't work because it's asking for something (a token ID) that does not exist.

Quicken Simplifi will not admit their add account page is asking for information that doesn't exist and needs to be updated, they literally just posted an alert advising to contact Wealthsimple with questions.
No place to enter password on Quicken Simplifi add account page? Oh that's Wealthsimple's fault rollseyes. This hasn't gone anywhere for 15 months and won't go anywhere for the next 15 months either, we will need to use another aggregator.

@Coach Jon I agree with Griz, requesting the same login screen when there are 5 threads showing the screenshot is quite odd to me too. [Removed - Disruptive]

As much as I do think how long this is taking to get resolved is ridiculous, the fix is most likely not a simple "change prompt from mint to password" …
Quicken most likely accesses Wealthsimple via an API, it doesn't just login like we do and scrape the data, but has a data stream that it connects to to pull down the data.It is possible that Wealthsimple hasn't updated that API to accept a password for authentication, so there does need to be some coordination between Quicken and Wealthsimple to fix this.
I reached out to Wealthsimple about the issue, and right now, they do not appear to actively support any external "aggregator", which is what Quicken effectively is.
If you want to get this fixed ( obviously you do! ), you need to put pressure on Wealthsimple as well … until Wealthsimple themselves are involved, the best Quicken can do is put up a 'this institution is currently down' message, which I believe they have done.
That said … I have found a web based aggregator that does everything that I need, and works consistently with Wealthsimple … if anyone is interested, message me as we're not allowed to discuss third-party products here …
But, for Quicken: The app I am using uses a third-party service ( Plaid ) that acts as a middle man … I don't know what they are doing on their end to pull the data, as I've yet to find a published API doc for Wealthsimple, but somehow they are pulling clean, usable data for third-party apps to tap into ( works with CIBC, Wealthsimple, CTFS, Capital One and Walmart Rewards ) … maybe time to outsource the data collection and focus more on subscription fees from users then licence fees from institutions?Note to non-Quicken ppl here .. the third-party service is not for end users … there is no web interface or anything … its purely for companies like Quicken to be able to go through and tap into financial data, so don't go searching for it in hopes that it is a replacement for Quicken … it isn't :)
