Dismissing Bill Reminder removes charge from Cash Flow

@michaeljcampbell, thanks for posting to the Community!
We have an existing request for the ability to mark recurring reminders as "paid" that you can vote for and follow for updates here:
Otherwise, that is correct that dismissing a recurring reminder will remove it from future projections. Instead, with the way Quicken Simplifi is currently designed, you'll want to wait for the transaction to download and get linked to the recurring reminder. The reminder is essentially a placeholder until the actual transaction occurs.
You can also dismiss the reminder and manually enter the transaction with a future date, as Rob mentioned. A future-dated transaction is also considered a reminder, as it's a placeholder in future projections until the date of the transaction actually occurs, and then it becomes a transaction in your register. In this scenario, since the transaction is manual, it would then become linked to the downloaded version of the transaction once it downloads.
I hope this helps!

In theory:
You should enter a payment transaction, with a current -or- future date — if current date, it will be reflected in today's cash flow forecast, if a future date, it will stay in the upcoming cash flow forecast under the transaction name. Afterwards, you can either 'link' the transaction to the bill (which will remove the reminder), or just remove the reminder and leave it unlinked to it. Leaving it linked to the reminder will keep it in the bills section of the spending plan, if it is unlinked it will show up in either Planned Spending or Other spending typically.

Thanks for your reply.
I understand the workaround you described but was hoping the functionality would work as below which would avoid needing to enter the manual payment transaction.
- Create Recurring Bill for future payment
- When Bill is manually paid select Dismiss Reminder (this is the flag to myself that I have paid the bill as the Reminder is no longer present in the list)
- Simplifi reflects the Recurring Bill charge in Cash Flow until the charge is downloaded and linked to the Recurring Bill (currently Simplifi is not doing this and shows that I have more money available than I actually do — until the charge eventually is downloaded)
The key need for me is so that there is some sort of flag that I have paid the bill in advance as in many cases I schedule the payments days or a week or two in the future but can't remember whether I paid it or not. A flag, or in this case, a dismissed reminder in Simplifi, would greatly help.

I think what you are looking for is what is being requested here — please vote on it if so — dismissing and deleting a reminder is the same thing —
As of this note, there are 143 votes and they are 'currently reviewing options for this request!' as it says in the voting area on the first page.

Wonderful — thanks Natalie and Rob! Your workarounds are helpful, and I will keep my fingers-crossed for a feature enhancement in the future to fully address this!

This does illustrate why i prefer the language “upcoming” rather than “reminders” because reminders sounds like they are there to remind you to pay them , but they are used for calculations as well beyond just reminding you.

You may also like this alternate idea post :
this would create a transaction (which could be future dated) from a reminder, though this has fewer votes
