hitting Enter after inputting "Notes" in transaction columns view is cumbersome
When I want to update various notes with information, I find myself having to click out of the cell to make sure it registers or saves the information because if i go from cell to cell it sometimes doesn't same. This should be a straight-forward enter day quickly. No need for a little dialogue to say off to the left it was updated. The same for the category. Sometimes it's so cumbersome and won't allow you to just start typing the category to choose it. Overall, make data entry very simple and easy, please!!

I've had issues with with category/tags not saving if I press Tab to reach the next column without pressing Enter first. I just tried it now and it's working with tags but not categories. I'm not sure if this is a new issue with the new register.

I have converted this from an Idea post to a Discussion so proper troubleshooting can ensue. With that, if you're referring to editing transactions directly within the transaction register on the Quicken Simplifi Web App, I personally didn't see any problems having data saved when tabbing from field to field. Have you tried using Tab instead of the Enter key? Or are you using the Transaction Detail view to add/edit transactions?
Additionally, if there are any issues with the new register specifically, which can be determined by disabling Early Access to see if the issue is also present in the old register, you'd want to let our product team know by posting in the official feedback thread for the new register:

@Coach Natalie can you try editing a transaction's category and then pressing tab? When I do that, it reverts to the prior category. This is from the transaction list, not when opening the edit window.

@EL1234, when editing a transaction inline (directly in the register) to change the category, once I highlight and press Enter on the category I want to use so I see it in the 'Category' field, and then hit Tab to go to the next field, I don't have any issues with the new category saving. I also didn't have any issues with a 'Notes' edit saving after tabbing from the field. This is while using the new register in Early Access.

The goal IMO would be to not need to press both Enter and then Tab after typing in the category, to reach the next field. Can you try typing the full category name you want and then pressing Tab, without Enter?

@EL1234, I cannot press Tab before pressing Enter, as Enter is what makes the category selection. If this behavior is specific to the new register that is currently in Early Access testing, you will want to share your feedback in the official feedback thread so it can be reviewed by our product team, as mentioned above.
You can also create an Idea post to request a specific change to Quicken Simplifi, since the current behavior with the 'Category' field appears to be by design. Here is our FAQ on creating Idea posts:
