Annual Budgeting by Category/Sub-Category & Reporting
I realize there have been many prior posts regarding this feature request or similar, but it seems as though the discussions have been closed, so am starting a new post here.
Am really hoping for the ability to create an ANNUAL Budget by Category/Subcategory and the ability to run reports based on Actual vs Budget. Would like the ability to run these reports by Month, YTD and also custom date ranges and Trends.
I've seen the posts by other users and coaches referring users to the Planned Spend and/or watchlists (which I've found to be insufficient and to a certain extent confusing). I am a former QuickBooks user (on the Business side) and the reporting was far superior. While as an individual/personal user, I don't need all of the bells and whistles of Quickbooks, some improvements to basic reporting in Simplifi is needed.
I am very appreciative of the new Beta Version of the Income & Expense reports, though. The issues here is that they can only be exported in a pdf version and cannot compare Actuals to Budget.
Of course now that we are working on year end household finances and projections for next year, the need for these missing features is heightened.

I'm afraid Simplifi has turned the page on this idea. It is committed to the Spending Plan approach and is unlikely to shift to (or even add) a conventional budget capability.
That said, the suggestion below for an historical Spending Plan report would provide a little better visibility on how you are doing over time… without requiring Simplifi to totally change its approach. I know it's not exactly what you are looking for, but it might be helpful.

I sure hope Simplifi is open to adding this new budget feature and has not turned the page. Although the suggestion re the spending plan reports would be helpful and better than what currently exists it still does not address the underlying need.
and still hoping that Simplifi has not abandoned developing a robust annual vs actual budget feature. Fingers crossed!0 -

I went ahead and moved this out of Feature Requests, as you want to outline and request just one enhancement or feature per Idea post in accordance with our guidelines here. That way, other users can vote for that specific enhancement or feature, which gives our product team an idea of how many would like to see it.

Thanks,Natalie, noted. I will review and add my vote. However, it looks like these requests have been out there since 2020 and 2021 …. pending for approx 5 years or so. Is it possible to get an update from the product team on whether or not there are plans to implement and anticipated timeframe?
