When creating a recurring transaction that has category and tags, category is auto populated but tags need to be re-entered.

    @Micky1701, thanks for reaching out to the Community!

    To clarify, are you referring to creating a recurring series from an existing transaction that has a tag assigned to it? If so, the 'Tag' field not being auto-populated in the series doesn't appear to be a bug. I can confirm this by reviewing the visuals in our support article, which were created using a previous version of Quicken Simplifi but exhibit the same behavior.

    With that, if this is something you'd like to see added to Quicken Simplifi, the best way to make a request is to create an Idea post so other users can vote for it, and our product team can review it. Our FAQ here has more details on how Idea posts work:

    Let us know if you are referring to something different. Otherwise, I hope this information is helpful!

    Yes the video shows selecting an uncategorized transaction with no tags. My example is selecting a categorized transaction in which tags have been added. If in the future I select to make a recurring rule for these transactions the category if picked up but the transactions are not and need to be re-entered. I notice if I select the same transaction and create a rule, both category and tag entries are populated. So my feeling is that it should be the same when creating a recurring series on the same transaction.

    @Micky1701, thanks for the reply!

    That is a good point: the video does not show the tags column, so we would not know whether the transaction had a tag. However, when comparing transaction rules to recurring series, since these are entirely different features in Quicken Simplifi and serve entirely different purposes, I would not expect the design elements to match. We wouldn't be able to use something like this to make a determination.

    With that, I have reached out to inquire further on whether tags are supposed to be populated when creating a recurring series from a transaction. Though I suspect that creating an Idea post is still the best and correct path forward, as mentioned in my last comment. This allows our product team to gauge how many users want to see a specific change.
