Goal's Tag Name added to Payee List after a contribution

I've just noticed that after I make a contribution to a Goal type that's subtracted from the Spending Plan, the Goal's Tag Name is added to the transaction Payee list.

    @Graham, thanks for posting to the Community!

    Can you elaborate on what specifically you're seeing in Quicken Simplifi, please? I just contributed to a Savings Goal that's included in my Spending Plan and didn't notice any anomalies. By "the Goal's Tag Name is added to the transaction Payee list", do you mean that you see a transaction in the register of the account you contributed from, or what exactly does this mean?

    Please let us know so we can best assist!

    Hi Coach Natalie. I created a new Goal titled "Birthday Fund" that is included in the spending plan. As expected, Simplifi auto created the goal's tag titled "Birthday Fund Goal". After I contribute to the goal (it doesn't matter if it's either via the Spending Plan page or the Goal page), the goal's tag name "Birthday Fund Goal" is added to Simplifi's payee list; meaning, if I were to attempt to edit an existing transaction's payee name or create a new transaction, the goal's tag name "Birthday Fund Goal" is listed as an existing payee.

    @Graham, thanks for clarifying!

    I am seeing this as well but am not sure how it's a bug. It seems to be intended so users can essentially assign a transaction that's a Savings Goal contribution to the Goal's name without having to use a Tag. To clarify, how is this behavior affecting your usability of Quicken Simplifi?

    Hi Coach Natalie. If Simplifi is now intentionally programmed to automatically create a payee name using a goal's tag name, then I can accept it's not a bug. However, it is certainly irritating that Simplifi auto-populates my payee list. My position is that when I use the payee list, I want it to ONLY be payee names that I've actually used in a transaction. I have no desire to see savings goal tag names that have never been nor will ever be used as a payee.

    If this feature just must be, then my recommendation is to make it optional so that a user can turn it on or off via the Settings.

    @Graham, thanks for the reply and the feedback!

    Since the current design is disrupting your workflow, I'd suggest creating an Idea post to request a change so other users can vote on it and our product team can review it. This is the best way to bring feature requests and changes to the table!

    We look forward to seeing your request!
