Improvements to Transfers: Assign categories and have them show up in reports [Edited]

- I'd like to be able to assign actual categories to transfers. I have one account that is shared with my ex. We make joint payments for certain kids expenses from this account, both contributing funds and then making the payment. Child support payments also go to this account and get withdrawn by the other party. So every transfer to or from this account has a PURPOSE and actual assignment that reflects 100% of MY portion of said expense or reimbursement. For expenses, the outgoing transfer is set to show in my spending plan, and the joint payment is hidden. But at the moment, that means these EXPENSES to me can never be assigned a proper category in the spending plan since that is holding the transfer info.
- I need these transfers to show up in reports, since they are part of my expenses. They have an option to show or hide them from reports, and yet I haven't found a report that actually reports them. Please give the option for transfers to be included in reports.

You can just not 'link' transfers. You could assign a category to each side (deposit, withdrawal) and hide one side (either money out or money in) from reports if you only want one side on reports.

@squirrelbeforesunset, thanks for posting your suggestions to the Community!
Since you want to outline and request just one idea per Idea post in accordance with our guidelines here, I went ahead and moved this out of Feature Requests. In this case, however, it sounds like we have a couple of existing requests that would meet your needs!
If so, please be sure to add your vote and feedback. @RobWilk also provided a great suggestion, given the flexibility you have with excluding transactions from Reports and the Spending Plan regardless of the Category —
I hope this helps!
