Total Spending Left for the Month

It would be great to have a number or bar that shows total money left for the month. For example, Available spending left is (-$400), but a planned or all planned spending is budgeted at $2000, and and there is $1000 left. The total money left for the month is $600. My wife will generally see that we have over spent in the other spending category and make adjustments to try and underspend in the planned spending category. This feature would help to easily see where the overall money stands for the month.

That's what I do as well. About halfway through the month, I make some adjustments to planned spending as circumstances change. For example, this is a short month so I will save some on food and recreation. And when I see that we are spending too much, I can make some decreases in discretionary spending such as extras that we really don't need.

The individual tiles in "Planned spending" show the amount "Available," or unspent so far. But if you have a lot of tiles it's hard to get a sense of the total amount unspent.

Maybe adding a "Total Available" or "Total Unspent" amount on the "Planned spending" tile itself (the one on the left hand side that shows the total of planned spending) would be helpful.

For me, though, about half of "Planned spending" represents tax and health insurance deductions that I am unable to include in the "Income after bills & saving" section (because of QS's current inability to split recurring transactions). When those expenses hit during the month doesn't matter — they are going to happen. Seeing them as "Available" or whatever could be a bit misleading.
