Unable to add American Express Credit Card account with the Intuit option (edited)

I have been trying for months to switch my Amex credit card from using the Finicity connection to the more secure OAuth connection but it does not give me that option. American Express credit cards are listed on the OAuth API page but I have been told by folks while using the chat function that there is nothing they can do. I'm paying the same amount of money as everyone else and I am upset that I am not getting the same features that others apparently have. Can anyone help me escalate this?

Are you connected presently to Amex credit card? You might need to take the account manual and start over. If you take it to manual and then try to connect with the new connection, make sure you link the account to your present one so you don't end up with two.

The account is currently connected through Finicity. If I go to add new account and type "American Express" I get 2 options as shown in the top photo. If I choose American Express Credit Card, I get the Finicity login screen (bottom photo). I am just trying to get my account to be connected in the most secure way possible. OAuth is one of the reasons I chose Simplifi and it is extremely frustrating that they offer it but I cannot get it to work and have received no help from them.

Well, one of the coaches or a user with experience with this will need to step in because I am stumped. I knew Finicity was an option for connections (I don't use any as far as I know), but didn't know it wasn't optional. Maybe newer accounts use this.
OTOH, if you are able to download successfully to your Amex Card, I am sure this is very secure. Good luck.
Edit: I found a post from this summer where @Coach Natalie said it was not possible to switch from Finicity to Intuit. Apparently that is still true.

Some of my other accounts use OAuth so I don't understand why some users get features that others do not. We don't get to choose which of Quicken's servers we get put on when we sign up for a Simplifi account, we are all paying the same price. It is a cloud software, there should be parity across all users. Thank you for taking the time, but this makes me very upset, providing my credentials to a third-party (Finicity or whoever) is inherently less secure than being redirected to my bank's website. I understand the need for smaller banks who maybe don't have OAuth enabled for their organization, but any larger bank would. The fact that huge banks/credit cards like Discover still aren't on the OAuth list is crazy to me.

Hello @Mercs,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community with this issue. Unfortunately, there currently is no way to switch from Finicity to Intuit, and American Express does not yet offer OAuth with Finicity.
There is currently an Idea post requesting expanded use of OAuth APIs:
The Idea status is currently "In Progress", so you cannot add a vote, but you can bookmark it to see updates, and you can add a comment about the need for Finicity to support OAuth with American Express.
Thank you!

I think the support page for OAuth should be updated to reflect that it is not available for all customers. Things also probably shouldn't be implemented until it has parity across the user base, especially when it is no fault of the user which connection they were assigned when they created their Simplifi account. It is very upsetting to find out that Simplifi could implement useful features in the future but I would be excluded from using them despite paying the same price as every other user who does have access to them.

Thank you for your reply,
I forwarded your feedback on the article to the proper channels.
For the issue with being unable to freely switch between aggregators, I'd recommend creating an Idea post to request that a way to switch be added. For information on creating an Idea post, please see the post linked below:
Thank you!
