Ability to Track Employee Pension Plans (edited)

I'd love to have the ability to track "old school" pension plans (which is separate from a 401k). The pension plan is a unique retirement vehicle because there is a vested cash balance that often updates once per year based on a company's specific formula tied to how many years an employee has worked there, how much they make that year, and other potential considerations. There are no underlying investment holdings to track, it's just a cash balance that updates yearly (or on some other cadence), but you don't have access to the funds until retirement.

I wonder why there has been no replies. At very least, there should be a manual account type for pension. Am I missing something?

At least it’s better than a spreadsheet.

Same goes for treasury investments, like savings bonds. I can connect to TreasuryDirect, but my savings bonds are classified as other investment.

I'm in the same boat. It would be nice if I could at least create a custom account type (Pension) in this case, so I can track it correctly manually. This request would let you do that, and track it manually:

As a workaround, you can add a manual account and track it as an "Other Asset". I prefer that over "Other Investment", since "Other Investment" then wants you to track the underlying assets in the account, which in the case of my pension fund is invisible to me. (I only know the the lump-sum distribution amount, which is what I'm tracking.)

I would like to be able to track my wife's pension (even if manually) which is currently linked via Fidelity. There is no balance update and the account only shows a connection error no matter how many times I provide updated credentials and approvals from Fidelity's end. So I will have to switch the account to manual but there's no option for "Pension" under the manual account categories.
