Allow updating or removing the payee's name from the list

I can update the Category and Tags lists just fine, but I can’t seem to update the Payee list.

I’m guessing that at some point, someone misspelled a payee’s name, and now that typo is immortalized forever, serving as a permanent reminder of our typing skills, at least for me.

Quicken, please fix this design flaw so users can edit or remove payee names from the list.

@JE TXUS, thanks for sharing your feedback with the Community!

Although there is currently no manageable payee list in Quicken Simplifi, we do have an Idea post you can vote on and provide feedback on.

Please be sure to follow it for future updates as well, in case this ability is ever implemented! For more details on voting for Idea posts here in the Community, please see our FAQ:

Sorry I don't have a solution for your misspelled payee, but I hope this helps!

I believe the payee list either comes from previous transactions or things like recurring transactions. If you can find the mis-spelled one by searching previous transactions, you may be able to correct it.

@JE TXUS , yea, @RobWilk is correct. The Payee list is compiled automatically from two sources: (1.) The payees listed on individual transactions and (2.) The payee name in your Recurring Series. If your finding McDonaldds in the auto fill suggestions when entering a new transaction, but you don’t find any transactions with that particular misspelling, then check your Recurring Series and you’ll find it there.

I will echo the above and also mention that if your transaction list is filtered to only show from a specific year or later, you may need to switch it to All Time (temporarily) to find and fix the transaction with the wrong payee name.
