I'm just so confused, is there a way to go back to the old layout?? I'm definitely not a fan of this new hierarchical format, and preferred the old way just the way it was. I wish we could spend time adding new feature like creating an API for users instead of updating things that dont need fixing

edit: Seems like this was moved to transactions

The report and report export enhancements are great. They make Simplifi a more useful tool for managing my finances. Having said that…

The data preference "show expenses as negative" selected by the user should be reflected in the export output: PDF, CSV (Nested), CSV (Flat), Print. As of now, expense values are always positive in the PDF and Print files, and always negative in the CSV files.

Can a Quicken Simplifi Coach please respond as to whether this is in the cards? Thanks.

This earlier comment is killing me too. Please allow us a way to go back to viewing all report transactions sorted by amount. This disrupts my ENTIRE way of using it. Earlier comment:

Listing the Expense transactions by category is completely useless to me, and taking away the ability to sort those transactions by date or amount makes it even more useless. Reading through this thread, I understand this ability is available when clicking on a specific category, which could work, but I refer back to point one, with the inability to view top level categories and associated transactions.

Well, this is too bad! All I want and need is expenses by date for month-to-date, last month, etc. I can sort by account just fine in a spreadsheet. Why on earth would you remove this functionality? I hope I can figure out a workaround.

Feedback: Spending Report Table – Restore Flexible Column Sorting

I'd like to share some feedback on the recent changes to the Spending Reports table.

I'm not a fan of making the Category column mandatory. Previously, one of my most-used features was the ability to sort the table by day of month or amount — which made it easy to spot patterns in my spending at a glance. With Category now locked as the primary sort, that flexibility is effectively gone.

I understand Category may be a useful default for many users, but for those of us who relied on alternate sorting, this feels like a step backward. A simple toggle or setting to make Category optional — or at least allow secondary sorting by other columns — would go a long way.

Hoping the product team will consider restoring this flexibility. Thanks for listening!

  • I absolutely hate the new "enhanced" reports. I am a mobile user. The filters along the top for all reports are too big, and distract from the actual information of the report. My biggest gripe is with the "Spending" report. You used to ve able to set fliters here independently of the Dashboard summary tile for the month. Now, if I click the Dashboard summary tile for more info on that month's categorized spending, it takes me to the Spending report instead and those filters.

As a user, I spend less time in app due to these multiple new report "enhancements".

Correct, I saw the old layout in transactions. Like having both options to use.

I am enjoying the new report layout. Love having the bars show all categories, not just the top categories with having to click on everything else. Great job.

  • Hi team - thanks for all the work on the app.

I noticed this morning that the Income & Expense report no longer shows Total Net Income at the top like it used to. After playing around with it a bit and chatting with support, I see that it's still there if you choose Divide Columns by: Time. But if you choose Divide Columns by: Account, the card goes away.

Is there any way to bring this back? This is pretty big downgrade for me from a usability standpoint. I spend a lot of time switching date ranges (e.g. last month, month before that, last quarter, etc.) to see how the reports compare. And the number one data point that I'm looking for with each set is is net income. It was perfect when that information was front & center (like it still is, if you're dividing by time). Would you please consider restoring this functionality for the divide-columns-by-account option?

    Thanks,

    Mike
