I was unable to find anyone talking about this, but why do I have to enter my credential every time Simplify connects to LPL Financial? All my other accounts are able to retain credentials and do not require entry on every update.
@DingoBoy, thanks for reaching out to the Community with this issue!
I've never personally heard of a bank requiring login credentials for every update. To clarify, it's asking for your username and password, not MFA or anything along those lines, right? And does this happen every single time you refresh LPL in Quicken Simplifi, or is there a specific interval, such as once a day?
For troubleshooting, I'd recommend establishing a completely fresh connection with the bank to see if that clears things up for you moving forward. Here are the steps to do so:
We look forward to your reply!
My apologies, yes it is MFA every time the account updates, so multiple times a day. Sorry, I had not had my coffee yet when I sent this.
LPL allows me when I log via a browser to remember my browser which prevents MFA every single time. I have made the accounts manual and reconnected them to see if maybe there was a change since I last connected. Will report back if I am still getting prompted for MFA every time in Simplifi.
@DingoBoy, thank you for confirming it is MFA you're referring to!
Quicken Simplifi doesn't have any control over bank MFA prompts, as these are controlled and generated by the individual banks. Our help article here has more details on this: https://support.simplifi.quicken.com/en/articles/4704254-why-do-i-need-to-re-authenticate-my-bank-with-every-refresh
