Paying early moves the reminder to the transaction date (edited)

My truck payment is due on the 16th of each month. I have a reminder set up for that account for the 16th.
At the end of this month, I had a little extra cash so a went ahead and paid the September payment (via transfer on my bank's website). I linked the payment today, August 28th and the reminder moved to August 28th. Even when a reminder is marked as paid (without a corresponding transaction) the reminder moves.

It's a reminder. To my way of thinking, the date should not change. If you make a reminder on a calander and complete the task early, you cross it off. It doesn't move. I would rather it stay on the date it is due and simply show as paid. Am I missing something?

Thank you for taking the time to explain this and for sharing your perspective. I can definitely see the value in having the reminder continue to represent the original due date, even when the payment is made early.

This current behavior is expected. Once a reminder is linked to a transaction, Quicken Simplifi matches the reminder to that transaction, so the transaction date is retained. You can find more information about how this works in our Link Transactions to Reminders help article.

That said, your suggestion of keeping the reminder in Bills & Income and simply marking it as paid when the payment is made early is a great product idea. I’d encourage you to submit this as an Idea in our Feature Requests section. This will give you a place to describe the use case in more detail, and other community members can vote and share their feedback as well.
