There is another Idea post about adding the ability to do recurring Savings Goal contributions (click here). While related, this is a slightly different idea that would be helpful whether or not Simplifi adds recurring transactions. In fact, in my mind, it would be more beneficial right now since they don't; because it would offer a potential workaround.

It would be really helpful if this Savings Goal Edit screen offered options other than just "Monthly".

For example, I have $27.50 auto deposited into my savings account every two weeks with my paycheck for a Christmas-related Savings Goal. If I could set this up bi-weekly, it would better match reality and I could then manually click this button in the Spending Plan every two weeks.

I'm interested in this! I expected this to be a baseline savings goal feature.

To accomplish weekly savings amounts, I had to create my contributions as a bill, which is really not what they are. If there were a way to create a series for contributions to savings goals just like bills and income, Simplifi could be on the lookout for transactions/transfers to auto match instead of having users manually recording their deposits to the goal.

It's not really that the series functionality needs to be created—it already exists. It just needs to be accessible from the savings goal area so that savings/investments are marked in the budget correctly, instead of as bills.

If even just a couple of these were to be implemented, Savings Goals would become so much more useful. Right now, Savings Goals are a neat idea that missed it's mark so I don't use them often.
