Transfers not excluded from Reports on both ends and bad handling of PayPal transactions
Every purchase via PayPal generates 3 transactions:
- Actual purchase on PayPal
- Withdrawal from checking account
- Deposit into PayPal
2 & 3 are two sides of one transfer but Simplify only marks 3 as excluded from Reports.
That leads to each purchase showing up twice in Reports.
Additionally for whatever reason the category of transaction 3 is set to name of account from 2 - should be "Transfer" instead. At the same time Payee of transaction 3 is set to "Deposit" where it would make more sense to mention name of source account or just "Self" or "Transfer".

@Marcin, thanks for posting!
Please take a look at my response here and check out the Idea posts I've linked, as it seems this is common behavior with PayPal:
Otherwise, I'd suggest manually editing the transactions in question so they're categorized correctly, as well as excluded from the Spending Plan and/or Reports to your preference.
Although I'm not sure if it would work with PayPal transactions specifically, Simplifi is designed to learn over time, so hopefully some manual intervention will improve your experience in the future. 🙂

Yes the 1st part of my complaint seems to overlap with

@Marcin, thanks for posting back!
I'm not seeing anything in your original post regarding wrong columns — can you provide a better description of what specifically you're seeing or share some screenshots so the community can get a better idea of what's going on, please?
