Canadian user specific features such as TFSA, RRSP, FHSA, RESP
Request for quick, better, and dedicated features for Canadian users. The app is primarily designed for US customers and piggybacking for Canadian users. For example, the account types show all US based terminologies for example, 401k, ROTH IRA etc. Similar thing is observed while trying to add Canadian BFSI institutions. For instance, major Canadian institutions such as Neo Financial, WealthSimple, SunLife Workplace Investments, Canadian credit score, etc. are still not supported.

Hello @Sourabh,
Thanks for reaching out! We do appreciate our Canadian users. We currently have a great idea post for Multiple Currency Support that you can vote for and follow here:
You can also create a separate Idea Post listing the need for Supporting the Canadian credit score in Quicken SImplifi. The post below shows how to do that as well:
Additionally, for any Missing Financial Institution you notice is Quicken Simplifi, you can create a Missing Fi Request post that can be voted for by you and other users. I see that you already submitted an FI request for Neo Financial, and I know we have an existing FI request for Sunlife you can vote for here:
It looks like Wealthsimple for Canada is currently available in Simplifi under "Canadian ShareOwner (Now WealthSimple)"
Thanks,
Coach Jon

hi Jon, I tried the wealth simple link posted by you through Canadian owners, I don’t think it’s working. Did you get anyone reported that it’s working for wealth simple? Thanks!

https://my.wealthsimple.com/app/homethis is the link when I tried to access via browser. Normally I used app to access wealth simple. Thanks!

Hello @Angelawxli,
Thanks for reaching out. Are you receiving a specific error when trying to connect to WealthSimple?
Thanks,
Coach Jon

Hi @Coach Jon, Quicken asks for a Mint connection code from Wealthsimple. Wealthsimple stopped supporting it after Mint was discontinued.
Thanks,
Sourabh

@Coach Jon Currently both instances require the mint connection code which isn't available anymore.

@Coach Jon
I think the 105 error and the mint access token are separate issues.
There's no way for us to get past this prompt, because the mint access token does not exist anymore.
It's a dead end.
As @timason said above, This happens on both instances of Wealthsimple within Simplifi2 -
Hello @cabaj.matthew,
Thank you for your reply! Have you contacted the bank to verify how you receive this token now that you no longer have access to it? They may have further instructions on where to find the token. Let us know if you do!
Thanks,
Coach Jon

Do you guys have plans to do any development of other methods to connect to WealthSimple? I use Wealthsimple heavily so this is a deal breaker for me and I will not be renewing my subscription after this year :/

Hello @IgorP,
Thanks for reaching out! I am sorry for the trouble you may have had with Wealthsimple recently. Currently, at this time Wealthsimple is still intermittently blocking connection traffic and the only thing we can recommend at this time is to try connecting outside of peak hours. As for the access token, I would still suggest having you try to contact the bank to verify how that token would be received if you are having a problem with that as well.
Thank you,
Coach Jon

Another vote for adding the following investment account types. Even if I have to add the amounts manually, I just want to see my investment accounts there without choosing a possible US-related name or "other investments". Especially since one can have many "other investments" at the same financial services company!
- RRSP - Registered Retirement Savings Plan (akin to an IRA)
- Group RRSP - Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (akin to a 401K)
- RESP - Registered Education Savings Plan (akin to a 529 Plan)
- ESP - Employee Savings Plan
- RPP - Registered Pension Plan (can cover the many types of pension plans)
- LIRA - Locked-In Retirement Account (holds employer sponsored retirement/pension savings after the employee leaves the company - locked-in until age 71)
- RRIF/LIF - Registered Retirement Income Fund (holds converted retirement or pension savings from age 71) / Life Income Fund (hold converted LIRA monies from age 71) - both pay out minimum monthly income during "retirement" years
- TFSA - Tax-Free Savings Account (I believe available in Canada only)
- RDSP - Registered Disability Savings Plan
- FHSA - First Home Savings Plan

@MagsMaggieEl, thanks for posting!
If you'd like to request various Investment Account Types, you'll want to create a separate Idea post for each account type (such as the one we have here for an 'HSA' type) so other users can vote on it and our product team can review it.
Otherwise, we have an existing request here for the ability to create custom account types:
I hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction!
