Ability to import net worth data for investment accounts
This request is related to the ability to import investment transactions. Currently, the net worth history import feature only works for non-investment accounts.
Currently, I used a workaround to import net worth history for my investment accounts.
Step 1: I created two accounts to import history only: IRA Hist and Designated Ben Hist. Both are manual accounts saved as Other Asset Type. The names are abbreviations of my live investment accounts.
Step 2: I filtered the net worth report by an account with incomplete history and completed the import. It worked and all my net worth history since 2014 is in Simplifi now.
Can we import net worth history for investment accounts without a workaround?

I would like this feature to add balance history to Investment accounts. Thanks

investment account is what creates the critical history. This is very important. Including real estate.

Simplifi says the feature to add historical balances/net worth data for investment accounts exists. I tried today and the import did not work.
Note: If you're importing historical account balances into an Investment Account, you must initiate the import from a different account since the Import icon is not enabled in investment registers. You can then change the account to the Investment Account when following step 5 below, and this will bring your history into the Investment Account!

If this feature already exists, should this feature request be deleted? @Coach Natalie @Coach Kristina

Hey everyone! It appears that account balance history can already be imported into investment accounts. Our product team was not aware that the import button was disabled in investment account registers, so they are working on getting that fixed. In the meantime, you can initiate the import from a different account, and then change the account you're importing into during the import flow. I tested this yesterday and my investment net worth data updated in the Net Worth Report!
Keep an eye out for the enabled import button in investment registers, as this should be available very soon!

I tried this morning to import balances to an investment account and did not succeed. I reported the bug. I tried again now and posted the results below.

@Coach Natalie I do not understand what you mean by import from a different account and then change the account during the import flow? Can you please explain it to me more in depth and step by step?

@lucky1515, the import button is now enabled in investing registers as of the 3.99.0 Web Release, so just follow the steps here to import your historical balances into your investment account from the investing register directly. The investing register can be accessed by clicking the account and then selecting the "Transactions" tab.
I hope this helps!

I was never able to get the import for investments to work either. Only using @UrsulaA's technique of creating a manual account which is slightly annoying but it works

This still does not work. The problem was not access to the button/feature. The problem is that after successfully importing balances for an investment account, the balances do not appear in any reports. Please escalate and acknowledge. This is still broken.

You are experiencing the same issue I described on the discussion below.
I wonder if support will add you to the ticket I opened if you open a chat with support via the web or mobile app.

It seems like Simplifi does not understand or acknowledge this issue. Please take another look. It does not work.

I've just been chatting with Simplifi support about this before finding this post. For me the button was still disabled. With "Early Access" on and opening in an incognito window, I finally got the option to upload, but then it zeroed out my chart (not showing the data it claimed to have successfully imported). The techs I spoke with now have enough data to reproduce this bug, including a copy of the imported Mint data that broke it. Hopefully it'll be resolved soon.

@UrsulaA It looks like they fixed the charts for the investment accounts that weren't showing data for me after Mint import, and I was able to import all of my other accounts' balances (with the exception of my credit card, apparently Mint generated a balance that was "invalid" for Simplifi import). I'm a happy camper.
