(I thought I would add this comment here, in addition to the DM, to make sure it is part of the mix.)

The slippery part is making recurring splits work with the Spending Plan.

Ideally, a recurring split transaction for a "paycheck" would show up in the Spending Plan as follows (using the example of a paycheck with deductions for taxes and health insurance):

    • Gross amount split - appears under Spending Plan | Income
    • Tax split - appears under Spending Plan | Bills
    • Health insurance split - appears under Spending Plan | Bills

At the start of the month when I look at my Spending Plan,

    • I want the Spending Plan | Income section to reflect my actual predicted gross income from upcoming recurring transactions (not the income after deductions).
    • And I want the expenses that will be paid from those upcoming recurring transactions to show up under Spending Plan | Bills.

Where the amount shows up in Spending Plan should be based on the type of Category for the individual split (Income or Expense), not on whether the whole transaction ends up being positive or negative.
