Connected account balances not updating with pending transactions (edited)

I saw those already. [removed - accuracy] I shouldn't need to click Re-sync (mind you it's a minimum of two clicks, more if I wasn't just looking at that one account), every time I create or edit a transaction in a manual account. I didn't need to until just a few days ago.

Well, if it's not a bug then it will have to be a super inconvenient backwards jump in functionality. Honestly I don't know what else to say…

What about the accounts that are not manual, why are we having issues in our synced accounts as well. I used to be able to put items into those and the balances would update immediately that is no longer the case. There is no sync button on those accounts.

The issue with pending transactions being delayed in updating the balance for connected accounts set to 'Balance with pending' has been escalated —
Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue!

The timing REALLY makes me think that these issues have the same underlying source… let's hope!

I am experiencing the issues discussed in this thread as well. After reading the comments on this thread, I do have some questions. This is the first time I've posted here (although I am a borderline-obsessive user of the software), so please forgive me for any ignorance. For clarity, I will name the specific issue and then ask my questions beneath it.
- Manual accounts no longer immediately react to the entry of a transaction. There is a 15-minute delay. The "re-sync balance" button must be clicked each time I enter a transaction if I wish to immediately know how an account's balance is affected by it.
I understand from the above comments that the "re-sync" button for manual accounts is a new by-design feature and not a bug. Does this mean that the manual account balances updating on a delay is the new baseline behavior of a manual account? If so, why? Is it to improve speed/performance of the software? Is it an unfixable bug that requires a workaround in the form of this button? I ask this because the old baseline behavior (immediate reflection of transactions) seemed far more efficient, i.e. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". If the delay is the new norm, while I'm not a fan, in isolation it's not a dealbreaker for me as a user. I just want to understand.
2. Connected accounts also no longer immediately react to the manual entry of a transaction. There is not a re-sync button on manual accounts, which means the only option is to wait for the sync. And I'm noticing that it is often longer than 15 minutes, maybe the "few hours" described in the connected account sync frequency settings. In other words, the manually input transactions reflect when the bank updates trigger. That's only an assumption, though.
I am a bit more bothered by this issue. It makes the software feel unreliable. I'm confident there will be a fix rolled out soon, as the team has been great so far, but this problem is terribly counterintuitive to my most-used features at the moment. In fact, it renders useless most of the purposes for which I use Simplifi, so I hope this is not fixed with another sync button. I'm dreading that I'll probably have to go back to Excel to keep up with my finances until this is resolved. I guess there weren't any questions in that, but this is how I view it.
Thank you!

Although they may be related, we wouldn't escalate a balance issue with manual accounts if the "Re-sync balance" button fixes it, as this is the intended purpose of using this.
I will keep everyone updated here on the results of the escalation filed for connected accounts! And I do hope the fix helps improve the manual account issue for everyone as well.
Thanks!

I thought the resync button was for random, flukey issues. Not that we would need to use it every single time…

I'm sure you are right, and I bet when they fix the connected accounts updating, this gets fixed as well. I agree they are probably connected, but I understand why they are focusing on this one first.

Yup I'm still hoping!

It appears that this (both issues) may be fixed! Can anyone else confirm?

@EL1234 Just did test transactions in both a connected account and a manual account, and nope, sorry to say, it is not fixed for me. I am using Web App 6.9 and iOS App 6.8.1.
However, the lag does seem now to be less in the range of 5-10 minutes.

I am seeing this same error with two different accounts with two different banks and for both deposits or expenditures. I followed the Send Feedback request earlier in the thread but an error like this is highly concerning to me. I will be doubting the final totals for a little bit after this and that is the entire purpose of using this type of software. I would highly recommend some updated unit tests for validating final balance, please!

Hmm, it's not acting fixed for me now either. I'm trying the same things as last night but now it's not updating. Either it was a fluke or else I'm dreaming!

Still not fixed for me this morning. It continues to be a major headache when using this software. Its pretty difficult to do finances when you cant enter anything and see the balance update
1 -
In fact this issue is making this software almost unusable for me at the moment. Its pretty hard to run a small business and wait 15 minutes to an hour for a balance update. I am using Excel and then transferring it over.

Hello everyone,
We now have an Alert for the issue with connected accounts that can be followed for updates moving forward:
We appreciate everyone's patience as we work to resolve this!

As of this comment, Simplifi appears to be behaving as it should for me. I added a transaction to a connected credit card, and the balance immediately reflected it, and the balance was accurate. I also added a transaction to a manual account, and it also immediately reflected without having to use the re-sync button. I deleted both of them, and the impact was also immediately reflected in the balance. I hope it stays this way!

Same here! I tried this with a manual account as well and it seems to be fixed.

OK, @EL1234 I got the email regarding your post, and I thought this time it better bloody well really be fixed. And yeah, both manual and connected accounts updated immediately. 😂

LOL I'm glad to be right finally! We can wait for official confirmation though if you want :)

As for waiting for official confirmation, it is the best policy because until then it may not be truly fixed or only fixed for some. This morning for example the lag seems to be back.
Although it may be partly due to my being up so early since I've always noticed that Simplifi is slow in the central zone to realize it's today and not yesterday.

Just to pile on, I am seeing this issue as well and it is basically happening on all connected accounts. They seem to update correctly when the next server side update to the financial institution happens.
** Edit ** My latest example updated to the correct balance reflecting the manual transaction (on a connected account) about 15 minutes or so after I entered it. This was also within the window between bank system refreshes ("Next available 3 hours" on this particular account and example)

No, it's 100% a bug!!!
Creating and editing manual transaction used to update the balance on the spot and that's how it was and suppose to be. What you guys did with Re-sync is a temporary workaround at best. We never did, no app never did, and we're not suppose to tell the program to do it after every single manual edit!
And that's for the manual accounts, for the linked, bank, credit card account, we can't od nothing at all.
This must be fixed ASAP.
This bug makes the whole app practically unusable.
And this all keeps happening after the price of the annual subscription almost doubled a year ago.
Please make this a high priority!
1 -
Exactly! It's a very temporary workaround, but as of now app is unusable.
Telling the app to do simple addition, subtraction every second, is totally nonsense. Especially for paid app.
And in the linked accounts, like bank, there's not even a workaround. App just does whatever it wants with the pending transactions. I've seen mine include some, but not all of pending transactions in the balance.
1 -
I know it is irritating. I have foresworn off doing any more test transactions, because after I see it doesn't update and I delete it, it shows up later in the calculation.
Also a Balance Adjustment won't work, but whether you delete it or leave it there, it too will show up in the calculation. Of course, sooner or later, it will be right, as mine is now.

As of right now, app, is practically unusable. Or useless. If any changes does not reflect the balance, the financial management app is useless 100%.
No other way to describe this issue...

As of 11:23 this app is still completely broken. Is anyone at Quicken working on this problem. We are paying a subscription fee for a app that is not working.
